Social Anxiety? Games? What??

Research shows board games (and game play in general) helps to reduce social anxiety by providing a predictable structure and mutual focal point (the game rather than oneself). Playing games helps boost confidence and self-efficacy, improves soft skills, increases empathy, and allows folx to practice low-stakes risk taking and conflict management.

Plus they’re super fun!

What To Expect

Each Game Night Therapy Group will be 8 weekly sessions. 8 different games will be played. A maximum of 8 players (including me!) will be at the table. The cost is $96/player paid upfront to cover the entire 8 sessions.

We will discuss and formulate group rules/norms the first session before we start our game. These rules and norms will help us all understand what’s acceptable in our group so everyone is clear on the expectations. After the game is played, we’ll reflect on the different interactions we had and how we can take our skills into the world.

Don’t worry, snacks and drinks will be provided!
